Signs with Green Bay
Mon, May 9, 2022, 3:15 PM
The Packers signed Jones on Monday.
Analysis: Jones was a 2021 UDFA and spent time with the Falcons, Dolphins and Titans last year. The Mississippi State product joined the Packers for a tryout during rookie minicamp and impressed enough to get an extended look.
A.J. Dillon
AJ Dillon Expected to split work in 2022
Fri, May 6, 2022, 11:30 AM
Dillon (ribs) and Aaron Jones could split the work "50-50" in the Packers' backfield in 2022, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic suggests.
Analysis: Jones played 52 percent of the snaps to Dillon's 43 percent in 2021, but with Dillon ascending, Schneidman believes those numbers will be even closer in the season ahead. Dillon's 2021 campaign was cut a couple quarters short by a broken rib, but no issues have been reported since, so he should be ready to go when the Packers begin offseason team activities later this month.
Agrees to rookie deal
Thu, May 5, 2022, 12:39 PM
Wyatt agreed to sign a four-year, $12.86 million contract with the Packers on Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Wyatt went to the Packers with the 28th overall pick in the draft, and he's the first 2022 first-rounder to agree to terms with his team. The 24-year-old ran a 4.47-second 40-yard dash at the combine and should have a chance to carve out a role on Green Bay's defensive line as a rookie.
B.J. Baylor Signs with Green Bay
Tue, May 3, 2022, 11:35 AM
The Packers signed Baylor as an undrafted free agent Monday, per the team's official site.
Analysis: Baylor rushed 227 times for 1,337 yards and 13 touchdowns across 13 games during his final season at Oregon State. He'll compete for a roster spot with Tyler Goodson, who also signed as an undrafted free agent.
Goes to Green and Gold

The Packers selected Toure in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 258th overall.
Analysis: This is an interesting late-round dart from Green Bay as it looks to fill out its receiver room. Toure played one year at Nebraska after starring at Montana earlier in his career. He led the Cornhuskers in receiving with 898 yards and added five touchdowns. Toure has workable athleticism at 6-foot, 191 pounds with 4.44 speed as recorded at Nebraska's Pro Day. He's not a lock to make the roster, but he should not be counted out given his success at every level that he's played.
Lands in Green Bay

The Packers selected Walker in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 249th overall.
Analysis: Walker was a three-year starter at left tackle for Penn State and will be 22 years old when the season begins. He features NFL size but has some question marks about his athleticism because he chose not to test in the pre-draft process. Walker has to work on his technique before he can play at the NFL level, but he may provide immediate depth at an important position.
Picked up by Green Bay
Sat, Apr 30, 2022, 4:56 PM
The Packers selected Ford in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 234th overall.
Analysis: Ford is a big-bodied defensive tackle out of Miami (FL) who checks in at 6-foot-5 and 333 pounds. He comes to the league after five years with the Hurricanes, where he made 30 starts. His statistics don't jump off the page with 60 career tackles but his projected role will be occupying space in the middle. Ford will apprentice behind Kenny Clark and Tedarrell Slaton in Green Bay.
Joins Green Bay

The Packers selected Brown in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 228th overall.
Analysis: Carpenter becomes the third linebacker to be drafted by the Packers thus far. Given the Packers' dismal special teams last season, the Georgia Tech product could be tasked with filling an important role within the team's 53-man roster as a flexible and fluid athlete, but it's unlikely he'll emerge as a primary starter given his small stature (6-foot-2, 230 pounds).
Going to Green Bay
Sat, Apr 30, 2022, 2:41 PM
The Packers selected Enagbare in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 179th overall.
Analysis: Enagbare will have to cut it at linebacker for the Packers, because at 6-foot-4 and 258 pounds, the South Carolina product is too small to play in three-man fronts. His 4.87-second 40 cast some doubt over Enagbare's ability to play in space, but Enagbare has excellent reach (34 and 3/4-inch arms) to go with standout burst (37-inch vertical).
Adds depth to Green Bay line
Sat, Apr 30, 2022, 12:56 PM
The Packers selected Tom in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 140th overall.
Analysis: The Packers love to prioritize versatile oline pieces and Tom fits the bill as a four-year starter at San Diego State. The soon-to-be 24-year-old saw double-digit starts at both tackle spots and even slid into guard on occasion. He's not a superb athlete by any means, but he is a road grader in the run game and could become a valuable depth piece along the Packers' offensive line.
Second WR for Green Bay
Sat, Apr 30, 2022, 12:34 PM
The Packers selected Doubs in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 132nd overall.
Analysis: Doubs did not participate at the NFL Combine or put together a pro day with his team due to a knee injury, but the Nevada product was a four-year starter and two-time first-team All-MWC wideout, including a senior season that saw him post 80 receptions, 1,109 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. There's plenty of questions regarding Doubs' speed, but during an individual workout prior to the draft, Doubs allegedly ran close to a sub 4.5 40-yard dash, which should alleviate those concerns. Given the wide assortment of slot receivers on the Packers' depth chart, it seems likely Doubs would need to play on the outside in order to make an impact in his rookie season, but he's not known for his run blocking, which could hamper his opportunities early on.
New protector for Rodgers
Fri, Apr 29, 2022, 10:00 PM
The Packers selected Rhyan in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 92nd overall.
Analysis: Rhyan could be a steal for the Packers, because if nothing else, he's a very big, very athletic guard. At a hulking 6-foot-5, 321 pounds the UCLA product logged a remarkable 33.5-inch vertical jump, making him an intimidating pull candidate.
Goes to Green Bay in second round
Fri, Apr 29, 2022, 6:23 PM
The Packers selected Watson in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 34th overall.
Analysis: Watson (6-foot-4, 208 pounds) is a tall receiver out of North Dakota State with compelling long speed (4.36-second 40), a combination of traits very similar to free-agent departure and former starting Green Bay wideout Marquez Valdes-Scantling. He doesn't project to do much as an underneath or even intermediate target in the NFL, but Watson eventually should develop into a more complete version of what MVS was for the Packers. Watson is a good bet to emerge as Green Bay's main boundary receiver and deep threat, even as a rookie.
Fifth-year option exercised
Fri, Apr 29, 2022, 1:14 PM
The Packers exercised Savage's fifth-year option for 2023 on Friday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Savage started every game for the third straight season in 2021, and he was on the field for 96.2 percent of the team's defensive snaps. However, his numbers took a dip from his second season to his third. Regardless, he still totaled 63 tackles, nine pass deflections and two interceptions during the 2021 campaign and will likely play a critical role for Green Bay's defense over the next two seasons.
Fifth-year option exercised
Fri, Apr 29, 2022, 12:34 PM
The Packers exercised Gary's fifth-year option for 2023 on Friday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: With Za'Darius Smith sidelined for the majority of the year due to a back issue, Gary took on a bigger role and shined during the 2021 campaign, notching 47 tackles (27 solo), 9.5 sacks and two forced fumbles across 16 appearances. With Smith now in Minnesota, Gary is poised to lead Green Bay's pash rush during the 2022 season and beyond. Per Fowler, Gary's 2023 salary will be between $10.9 million and $11.7 million, depending on playing time.
Goes to Green Bay in first round
Thu, Apr 28, 2022, 10:17 PM
The Packers selected Wyatt in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 28th overall.
Analysis: The Packers exit the first round with no wide receivers, and both of their selections were Georgia defenders; linebacker Quay Walker at 22nd overall and now Wyatt. Wyatt (6-foot-3, 304 pounds) is more of a gap-shooting tackle than one who takes on double teams, but with a 4.77-second 40 he has the burst to thrive in a gap-splitting role.
Green Bay selects in first round
Thu, Apr 28, 2022, 9:36 PM
The Packers selected Walker in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 22nd overall.
Analysis: The Packers might have preferred a wide receiver at this pick after trading Davante Adams to Las Vegas, but six wideouts went between picks No. 8 and 18, and the Packers suddenly were looking at linebacker instead. Walker might be a good one, and at the very least he's a rare athlete the Packers can mold at 6-foot-4, 241 pounds. Walker logged a 4.52-second 40 at the combine and is regarded as a plus coverage linebacker, so he should make most of his mark in coverage and pursuit rather than taking on linemen or cutting into the backfield.
Stays with Green Bay
Mon, Apr 18, 2022, 8:39 PM
Hanson (undisclosed) signed a one-year contract with the Packers on Monday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Hanson played in five games for the Packers in 2021 after spending the previous season on the practice squad. The former sixth-round selection will work to continue providing depth to Green Bay's offensive line in 2022.
Inks new deal
Mon, Apr 18, 2022, 8:25 PM
Nijman signed a one-year contract with the Packers on Monday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Nijman appeared in all 17 games for the Packers last season, including eight starts. He'll likely play a reserve role in 2022 behind David Bakhtiari (knee), depending on when Elgton Jenkins (knee) is able to return.
Inks new deal
Mon, Apr 18, 2022, 7:10 PM
Barnes signed a one-year contract with the Packers on Monday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Barnes played in 16 games for the Packers last season, tallying 81 tackles (58 solo), four passes defensed, a sack and two fumble recoveries. The second-year pro has carved out a significant role in the Packers' linebacker group, starting 23 games over the past two seasons.
